Notes: My penance story for that little off topic spat. It's short, kind of silly, definitely weird, and a look inside my head from the outside, kind of. Summary: Jake's musings about a Katmin, and the possible beginnings of a flame war. Warnings: M/M Relationship Implied Sex __________________________________________________________ . Cyber Bloodlust by Rauhnee Ranshanka ---------------------------------------- "Oh, krud." Jake swore lightly under his breath from his computer in one corner of the Hanger. "What's up?" Chance walked over softly, regarding the screen over his partner's shoulder. Jake shrugged acceptenly without a break in his typing. "Katmin's having a fit." "Whatist?" "Katmin, she's in charge of a couple mailing lists I'm on." Jake explained quickly. "Somebody just ticked her off big time." "Is this something I should prime the engines for?" Chance's concern was clear. "No way buddy." Jake's laughter interrupted his typing for a moment. "They're a good thousand miles apart and she doesn't have a jet of her own." He straightened his expression. "Besides, she's not *that* angry." "So what's she mad about?" Chance started reading what Jake was working on, getting the gist of things. "Somebody complained about her site to the list because of one image she has up." Jake rambled as he put the finishing touches on a message. "I agree with the guys' sentiment, but he just set match to fuel." "So why are you writing encouragement to her if you don't like it?" Chance caught the majority of Jake's message before it was sent, bringing the katmin's message into view. Jake smiled understandingly. "Cause the last time she was insulted publicly I didn't support her even though I thought she was right and it turned into a full blown war till she calmed down a little and took the debate off the list." There was a little regret in his voice. "I'm going to try to stop this one before it gets out of hand." ~mumph~ Chance growled. "She sure sounds like it already is. Feral treats us better than that." "It's not out of hand until at least one kat responds to her in anger on the list." Jake murmured, nervously checking the mail. Nothing new. "I know her a little better from the other lists. She's a sharp tongue and hot temper, but it doesn't take much to chill her out. Besides, she has the right to post stuff we find immoral. It was a pretty degrading pic, though it's not the worst one as far as I'm concerned. That's the nature of free speech. I just don't look too closely at the stuff I don't like." "Jake, you're preaching to the choir here." Chance reread the message, the checking quoted part. "Erotic Art ... Callie a prostitute? I hope *she* doesn't see this." "You should see what they have us doing." Jake couldn't hide a smirk. "Us?" Chance paused a moment while his brain put 'erotic' and 'us' together. "As in sex?" "On the Turbokat's wing." Chance shuddered, trying to push the image out of his mind. "I didn't need that visual, bud." Jake couldn't help but chuckle as he checked the mail again. "I saw it, you might as well suffer too." One message. -------------------------------------------------------- | | |Jake, | | | |Thanks. I calm now. | | | |You think I could drop by for a couple days next time | |I get some vacation time?
