Subject: |SKML| Posting.... (Off Topic) Date: Sun, 04 Oct 1998 16:35:06 PDT From: "Katareena Perkins" Reply-To: swatkats@PEAK.ORG To: swatkats@PEAK.ORG Now, don't take me wrong - I love this mailing list. However, sometimes we just are too casual about things. This is what I've always been used to on a mailing list: (excerpt from Mindspring's User's Guide - page WIN-49) "... 2) It is generally considered unnecessary to add an article to a thread that simply conveys agreement, such as quoting a long posting and only adding "Yeah!" at the bottom. As a general rule, you should try to add something new to the conversation. 3) Thousands and thousands of people could conceivably read your article. Think about whether this information is useful to the entire group or only to a specific individual. You can always reply to a single person by e-mail if needed. ...." I think these are things I needed to mention... and things *I* always find annoying to read. I'll get off my soapbox now and you may return to your regular broadcast. Beeeeeep. ~Klawz ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Do not meddle in the affairs of the SWAT Kats, . for they well armed and destined to win.
