As for the NC-17 stuff, the reason it's going down is not at all related to that X-rated internet banning bill. The reason is twofold: (1) Some colleges I am applying to will be visiting my sites in the next couple months, and I don't want them to see any of this stuff so they don't think I'm some kind of child pornographer. (2) It suddenly occured to me that everything on the archive in some way does represent me, whether I like it or not, and this is not the way I want to promote myself. When I started the archive, I was desperate for any and all fanfics, which is why I was greatful for the NC-17 stuff because I knew it would attract people to the archive. Now that the archive is thriving and non-NC-17 submissions are rolling in, I don't feel I need to go to desperate lengths to promote the archive anymore.
