A better starting point would be the F-84, the original straight-wing version. I leave it as an exercise to the reader to find appropriate photos. Bubble-bursting time: 1. 7 digit price tag. The best data point for price would be an outfit in Texas that is currently building replicas of the WW2 German Me-262 jet fighter. 2. Jet aircraft maintenance is measured in maintenance man hours per flight hour. The best you could hope for is high single digits. That is, for every hour of flight, you have 7-9 man-hours of service work. >Our ultimate goal it to replicate the TurboKat to every detail. Wouldn't it >be nice to actually fly in the SK's jet? It's possible. >We just need dimensions. Best bet is to go to the Russians. Lots of talented aircraft engineers who aren't getting paid... This is a fun thread, but silly. I love planes and helos too, but know I'll never own one (unless I win the $35M PA lottery ;-).
