Lucky you Still, it must have been quite an experience. Not many people can claim to have lived there. I still find myself there roughly once a year (bit groundhog dayish actually). But I can't imagine what it would be like to be there for years on end. For those of you who haven't been to Woomera, here's a small taste of the scenery. This is a view on short finals to the 'international airport', note the cluttered skyline... ;) http://www.ardebil.com.au/basement/misc/wmra_sf.jpg (15K) >For those in other countries. Woomera was a testing ground for rockets, And a great place for Swat Kat fans. The range is littered with these great underground bunkers, one which springs to mind in particular was designed to mimic the insides of a missle frigate. I can't help looking around and then thinking of Jake and Chance setting up their secret hangar and training facilities there. It's all just lying around, and is exactly the type of thing they'd want. So perhaps that's what they found at the junkyard, a decommed military base. While on the subject of where our heroes are getting all there neat stuff, I always saw them just breaking into Enforcer HQ every once and a while and errr, borrowing things. You can't get everything you want from a junkyard. btw. In reality SAS units and the like really do go to Woomera and run amok round all the old buildings and bunkers training. >testing area for Austraila's space program.
